As someone who has a sweet tooth for old school psychobilly, I was kinda excited to hear a few months ago that the Hellstompers were about to release an album. For a band that's been around over 20 years, they  haven't been exactly cranking out releases .Hell just 2 damn sweet albums in that time. The last been back in 2013. So for many fans, including myself, it's been a long wait. Well it's safe to say their latest album."Let's Go Stomp" doesn't disappoint. The puppy clocks in with 17 tracks of  rip rockin' old school psychobilly/neo rockabilly .The title track "Let's Go Stomp" was previously released back in 2015 on the Lunatic Rampage 2 compilation. Also "Psycho Holiday was previously released back in 2012. But other than that this all new.We also get a few covers including  two version's of the Batmobile's, "Love Disease".Overall this is one brisk, catchy and kool ride that nails it big.Hell it's full of fun and some great slappin'. Highlights include: "Same Shit Different Day", "Set The World On Fire", "Now I Wanna Be A Bank Robber" and "Psycho Police".

Back in 2017 Psychofarmaka released "Something Psychotic", an impressive debut album that for the most part ,went sadly under most people's radar .For anyone who managed to pick up on them, it was a real head shaker, because these cats play a catchy and damn stout strain of rockin' old  school psychobilly that really gets it's hooks into you.Now they are back with their second album " Reanimates" and man have they ever stepped it up.This time out we get 11 originals and 5 covers tracks of some of the koolest and fun psychobilly out there. From old school psychobilly to neo rockbilly and psycho surf, this is top shelf. Delta 88 - Firefly 2019

People really like Delta 88 and for good reason; this is a stout outfit that keeps it simple and fun. Hell they play very catchy rockabilly (with a shot of neo rockabilly) that's highly contagious. One just has to check out their ep,"Rockabilly Tales" and debut album "Rocket Powered" to back up what I'm saying. Now they have released "Firefly" and they're is no sophomore jinx here. This puppy comes in boppin' and crackling in with 14 originals that guarantee a good time. It's full of rockabilly with a healthy shot of neo rockabilly. We get both male and female lead vocals,a little bit of their kool quirkiness and and at times a sense of innocents. So in other words, they stay the course here and step it up a bit. Highlights include: "She Does Me Good", "Cherry Pie Till I Die", "Damsel In Distress", the hard rockin' "Panther In The Night" and "Return Of The Girl With A Ray Gun".

From start to finnish  "Firefly" is not only damn sweet it's also well balanced and produced (Alan Wilson of Western Star Records) .  If your looking for something that's refreshing and a whack of fun this rockabilly platter is just what you need and want. Highly recommended!!

Alex Brown and The Hepcats - Reckless Ways 2018

With the quiet demise of The Hellbound Hepcats, lead man Alex Brown wasted no time in forming the new band ; Alex Brown and The Hepcats. To no surprise, this outfit is damn good and it would be easy to confuse the two bands.Make no mistake, they may sound  very similar but they are two different entities. That said  Alex Brown and The Hepcats have dropped their new debut album "Reckless Ways " and this puppy is a straight up winner. We get 10 original tracks that range from all out rockers and boppers to mid tempo burners. This is a kool mix stew of neo rockabilly, 50's inspired rock n roll and country twang.Throw in a little swing and r&b and the result is one swingin' affair that will have up and rockin'.Highlights include: " Reckless Ways ", " Take Me Back", " One More" and "Twist Like Licorice".

The Gruffs - Not The Full Shilling 2017

When The Gruffs  formed in early 2016  they created some mild interest. After all this is an outfit that has some major pedigree with members coming out of Luna Vegas,The Hellrazors and Mickey and The Mutants.Instead of rushing things the band took the time to write and record material. It turned out to be a good call. The result is" Not The Full Shilling" a slab of delicious old school psychobilly. This puppy comes at you with 12 original tracks that are loaded and ready for fun. It's old school with a  flare of neo rockabilly, so you know it rocks. There is also a whack of humor running through it that at times, some may consider naughty. Back in 2015 Sandy and The Wild Wombats firmly establish themselves with the release of their debut album "The Girl Can't Help It". Sure it was all covers but it was loaded with some freakin' sweet interpretations. It also helps that this is a stout outfit that knows how to deliver. This is rockabilly that has been described as dirty, wild, has an edge and is fronted by some smokin' hot vocals. Now the band's follow up album " Devoted To Rock'n'Roll"  is here and man have they upped the anti. This puppy comes snarling in with 12 originals that with the exception of 1 ballad, really rock out .
