Over the course of 15 years the Australian outfit, The Saucer-men have managed gain a strong following, some international attention and have put together a small but impressive discography of 1 single, 2 eps and 2 albums. These kats  may be a neo-rockabilly band but they aren't afraid to mix it up and as a result the band's sound has a kool vibe. If you want proof of that you just have to check out the band's third and newest album " Fangs". This puppy rolls in with 11 tracks (10 originals) that range from straight up rockabilly to  country to rock n roll, some  spaghetti influenced billy and little splash of ska added on the side .Hell we even get some kool trumpet playing  on one track. It really is  a well balanced and diverse album.Highlights include: "Voodoo Stomp","Fangs","Ghost Train" and "Gangsters"

The Crossbones - Deadman's Curve 2014

From down under comes The Crossbones and this is one kool rockabilly trio that isn't afraid too mix it up.Since forming in 2013 these kats have made a name for themselves in Australia with their full throttle brand of billy music. They also have a rep for being a pretty fine live band that doesn't take itself too seriously. All that said the band's debut "Deadman's Curve " is an an album you should check out.Clocking in with 8 original kool and diverse tracks that deliver the goods. This is  modern rockabilly with splashes of country, spaghetti and  blues all thrown into the mix.Highlights include: " Big Mumma Bop" ," Splinters and Teeth", " Deadman's Curve" and the catchy " Your Car Ain't Cool".
A big  plus for the album is that the songs pretty well all sound different and they manage to flow together giving it a good vibe. Even thou "Deadman's Curve" plays out in under 24 minutes it manages to punch hard ,sounds fresh, has a sense of humor  and is damn good . The Crossbones are definitely a band to keep an eye on.Recommended!   https://www.facebook.com/thecrossbones      http://www.reverbnation.com/thecrossbones4

Pat Capocci - Pantherburn Stomp 2014

Pat Capocci is without a doubt one of the best artist out there and no one who is familiar with his catalog will argue that.I'm willing to bet a lot of rockabilly kats don't even know his name and that's a shame! With a handful of albums under his belt this Aussie  has earned a reputation as one of best when it comes to rockabilly. Now with his first release for Wild Records , Mr.Capocci  is showing that he's more than just a rockabilly guy. Pantherburn Stomp is nothing short of a tour de force.Clocking in with 13 original tracks that range from straight up rockabilly ,r&b to rock n roll and tinges of jazz. This is dirty ,intense and extremely good.Highlights include: " Pantherburn Stomp", "Genie In A Bottle","The Cobra" and "Thunderchief".
Simply put  "Pantherburn Stomp" is one of the years best  and is diffidently Capocci's best album yet and that's saying something. It is an album that raises the bar and a must have! If you don't know Pat Capocci is, you should and you can start right here! Highly Recommended!!  https://www.facebook.com/PatCapoccimusic/timeline    http://patcapocci.com.au/

The Hi- Boys - Shake 2014

No one can accuse The Hi-Boys of not going for it.This Australian band has literally come out of nowhere  to signing up with Wild Records in a span of less than 2 years, that's impressive. This is a rockabilly band that says it plays "Wild traditional rock n roll music". The band's ep from 2013 managed to snag some  radio airplay( mainly the song "Corn Liquor") here in North America and interest in them  keeps growing. That said the band's debut album "Shake" certainly  will live up to all expectations .We get 13 original tracks of  kool rockabilly that will have you up movin' and grovin'. This is rockabilly with little flashes of country and blues tossed in and the results are freakin' catchy and also damn good! Highlights include: "Shake"," Walking Out Your Door","I'm Gone" and "Trouble"
The Hi-boys have achieved a pretty good balance with "Shake". There is enough here to keep the  rockabilly purist happy  but it diffidently will also appeal to everybody else. Some albums are easy to like and "Shake" is one of them. Damn straight! Recommended
