Washington Dead Cats - Attack Of The Giant Purple Lobsters

No one can even accuse the Washington Dead Cats  of been boring. They have been one of the most entertaining and exciting bands out there for years now.Their brand of punkabilly/ wild rock n roll may have one shaking their head but there is no denying it's a blast of fresh air and fun. Also they have never been afraid to change it up ,you just have to check out the band's rap sheet of 12 albums and a whack of singles to see that. With their new and 13th album, " Attack Of The Giant Purple Lobsters" the band makes a return to their early wild side and it's damn good. This puppy smashes in 15 tracks of action packed wild rock n roll/ punkabilly .Once again these cats bring on the horns and  don't stay in the box .They throw in  garage, surf ,country and even some beatnik into the mix. It's an exciting affair that is tied together by 3 tracks about the giant purple lobsters.Highlights include: "Give Me The Fire", "Tiger In My Pants", "I Can't Stop Loving You ", "Hellhound On My Trail"and " Attack Of The Giant Purple Lobsters"

The Washington Dead Cats have scored a  direct hit with " Attack Of The Giant Purple Lobsters". This is a flat out killer album by a band that knows how to deliver the goods and still has a lot of gas in the tank.Highly recommended!!

Thee Creepfreaks - Tales From Thee Creepfreaks 2018

You got to give Thee Creepfreaks credit, these psycho cats are persistent, despite some bad timing and membership changes. They released a stout, wild and rough 7 song demo back in 2015. But just as it starting getting some traction, bang life got in the way and not for the first time. The band had some more struggles but when the dust settled, they hit their stride and signed up with Greystone Records. Earlier this year(2018) they released the strong and rockin' debut album "Tales From Thee Creepfreaks". This puppy packs a pretty good punch and clocks in with 12 original tracks of psychobilly, punkabilly and a little surf. Six of the tracks here appeared on the demo but are redone.Working with producer and Greystone Records headman:Scott Milsom has Thee Creepfreaks sounding better than ever. This is one of those albums that has a really clean and kool flow .It also has a great vibe that hooks you in. Highlights include: "Amber Gambler", "Abandon All Hope", "Straight Jacket", "Go West" and the neat single "El Dorado".

Thee Creepfreaks have hit pay dirt here with "Tales From Thee Creepfreaks". It's a damn strong debut album and  one rockin' psycho affair too boot. You should throw down a few of your hard earned bucks on this one .You'll be glad you did. Recommended!

The Black Frame Spectacle - Kick It Around 2018

The Black Frame Spectacle always give it their all.Hell they make killer records and when it comes to playing live, lets just say very few bands want to go on after them. Funny thing thou they sure take their time when it comes to releasing new music but boy it's always worth the wait. It's been three years since  their last release, a self titled ep. Now they are back and better than ever. Their latest  effort, " Kick It Around" cranks it up and brings on enough intensity to fuel a city. This puppy smashes the clock  with 11 original tracks that mix punkabilly ,hard rock, rocknroll  and shades of rockabilly into a  kool thrill ride. For the most part this has the pedal to the metal but they ease it back on a couple of tracks.Highlights include "The Legend Of Big Dumb Steve","Hard To Believe", "There Be Trolls","Back To The Blues" and "Kick It Around"

The Black Frame Spectacle are a band you should definitely get familiar with and " Kick It Around" is a good starting point. This is one damn stout outfit that rocks!  Highly recommended!!

Running From Daylight - Elvis Ain't Dead Yet 2018

Since crawling out of the primordial muck of Southwestern Ontario in 2017,  Running From Daylight  have been on a tare.  First came their 3 song ep "Coffin For Two" and then they hit back with| the kool single  "Mary Jane" .Along the way these young psycho upstarts have manged to snag some major airplay and not just in Canada. Not standing still they have just unleashed  their debut album, "Elvis Ain't Dead Yet".This puppy snarls and bites with 7 tracks  of  mainly rockin' psychobilly. They also add shots of punkabilly, horror, spaghetti and hard rock into the mix. It's a  fast and a bit of a loose ride that delivers.Highlights include: " Elvis Ain't Dead Yet", "Mary Jane", Between The Eyes" and "Whole Damn Bottle"

One has to be impressed with Running From Daylight, in less than a year they have put out 3 strong releases .As for "Elvis Ain't Dead Yet",it's a pretty stout debut album that shows this is a band that has it going on and is one you may want to keep an eye on . Recommended

EightBomb - High Heeled Devil 2018

When tragedy struck EightBomb back in 2015 they could have easily packed it in but instead they regrouped and continued on. Kudos to them and as a result "bombabilly" lives on and that's a good thing. EightBomb has always been a kool and unique act, their blend of neorockabilly, rock n roll and punkabilly has lead the band to be coined "original not traditional rock n roll". That said these cats are back with their 5th and latest release,"High Heeled Devil" and this puppy doesn't disappoint.Clocking in with 8 winning tracks that deliver the goods. It may not be as sonic as some of their pass work is, but it's a more balanced attack and still manages to punch it up at times. We also get 2 members taking turns on lead vocals, which helps spice up the affair . Also Jeroen Hammers (Batmobile) makes a guest appearance on the track "A Scar".Highlights include:: Killer Babe", "Empty Heart", Nice Neverless" and " High Heeled Devil".

EightBomb have mixed it up a bit with "High Heeled Devil" and despite only 8 tracks ,this is a sweet slice of neobilly/rock n roll .Hell it's bombabilly and you gotta like that.Recommended!!!

The Stinky Rodders - Raw & Wild 2017

Recently I caught wind of the Hungarian band The Stinky Rodders and with a name like that you gotta check them out. While color me impressed, these cats brew up some catchy "garage rockabilly" that will light a fire under a dead man's ass.Their 2016 ep " From The Garage" is a stout mix of equal parts  wild rockabilly and garage. The follow up is even better  and it's their debut album; "Raw & Wild. This puppy punches the clock with 12 kick ass tracks that are less on the rockabilly and more garage, that at times  mashes up into punkabilly. It also times in at around 30 minutes, so you know these cats get right to the point. We get  songs about bad gals, drinking and getting it on. It's also fast, furious, dirty and a whole whack of fun.Highlights include: "Route 69", "Bad Girl", "Midnight Boogie" and "Dead Body's Movin' "

With "Raw &Wild", The Stinky Rodders have dropped a rocket sled of fun and you'll be hitting the repeat button. You may want to keep an eye on these guys. Highly recommended!!

The Lucitones - The Lucitones 2017

The Lucitones hail from the not so hotbed of psychobilly Flathead Valley,Montana. However for the last couple of years they have laided  down  a pile driver mix of psychobilly, rocknroll and punkabilly that has managed to net them a solid and growing  following. As a result they ran a successful  kickstarter campaign and signed a record deal with HairBall8 Records. Now the band's self titled debut has dropped and this puppy hits hard and delivers the goods.Coming in with 13 stout tracks that sit at the corner of psychobilly and punkabilly with a whack of rocknroll hanging around. It's all good and has a kool refreshing vibe. Highlights include: " Dark As Day", "Scurvy",  the instrumental "Bad Luck", "TV Guide For Life" and "Stalker In The Sky"

The Lucitones are a damn strong outfit that aren't your typical psychobilly/punkabilly band and this  self titled debut album proves that. You gotta check these cats out. Highly recommended.

Evil Elvis - Undead Or Alive 2017

Evil Elvis is back and ready to spread more mayhem than ever. It's been around 6 years now since the impressive "Tattoo'd Fuckwit" surfaced and in that time, he and his band of renegades have gotten leaner and meaner. That said the new Evil Elvis album " Undead Or Alive "is now out and this puppy is another winner. For the most part we get 10 tracks of psychobilly that collide with revved up rock n roll and pack a punch. It's also a great follow up for "Tattoo'd Fuckwit" as  it's a little less heavy on the gas and more diverse, resulting in a stronger and better album. Highlights include: "My Evil","My Psycho Love", "Backseat Love" and "Too Fast For You"
Evil Elvis and his band are in fine form here, hell this is one band that can more than hold their own.If you aren't familiar with Evil Elvis you should give "Undead Or Alive" a spin.Chances are your gonna like it .Recommended.

Knuckles - Fist Fury 2016

Once in a while a new band comes along and just nails it.Case in point, the Knuckles out of Finland and man these cats really rock. They may be new but there is a whack of pedigree here and it shows  This is high octane speed rock meets psychobilly and it's done very well. The band's debut album "Fist Fury" delivers on it's title in more ways than one. We get an intro,10 full throttle tracks and one kool acoustic track that come at you hard and fast .Yeah it's speed rock with a whack of punk and it's more psychobilly than punkabilly. It's also well written and executed and that makes for one hell of a ride.Highlights include: "Mouth Wide Slut", "Dust & Bones", "Psychopath" and "Drunken Fury"

It maybe a debut album but " Fist Fury" is flat out killer. It takes no prisoners and you may want to buckle up for this one.Highly recommended!!

Whiskey Daredevils - The Good Fight 2016

The Whiskey Daredevils are flat out good and if you don't know that you should.Over the years and 9 albums in , these cats have always delivered the goods .Playing a mix bag of cowpunk, rockabilly, garage, punkabilly and rock n roll ,they have managed to stay vital and  refreshing. Saying that, the band's 10th and latest record "The Good Fight" is one hell of a ride that you gotta like. This time out we get 12 tracks that really mix it up and it just may be their most diverse album yet. This isn't as hard hitting as 2015's "Nashville Surprise " but it is  better. We get more twang ,more country,a little blues and it as a whack of speed and power too boot. This is roots rock that really rips it up and isn't for the faint of heart .Highlights include: "3 O’Clock In The Morning", "It’s Just Jail ", " I Don’t Love Your Sister", "Sunshine Girls" and "Mojo Twist "
Put it simply "The Good Fight" is another stellar effort by a band that still sounds refreshing and fun. If your looking for something that pushed the fold this puppy is for you and even if your not you should take a chance here. It's a pretty kool album. Clockwork Psycho - I Don't Give A Fuck 2016

Clockwork Psycho are one outfit that's up to the challenge. After releasing a stellar debut album  "Nightmares From Laibach" back in 2014 the band found themselves in big demand. The amount of press (all good)  and airplay they received  was and is kinda rare for a psychobilly band. These kats then went out ,worked harder and then got signed to Diablo Records .The results are now out for all to hear with "I Don't Give A Fuck"    and there's no  sophomore  jinx here. This is one impressive  raging slab of psychobilly /punkabilly that comes in with 12 tracks that don't let up.We get more psychobilly and less punk this time out. Right from the get go this puppy steps up and grabs your attention.Highlights include: " Library Of Abandoned Hope", "Go Away !", " Corpse That Stayed" , "Dead Boy" and "Clockwork Psycho"

Overall this is a stronger and  better sounding album than their debut. One reason for this is that Doley (Guitar Slingers,Diablo Records) did the production. However Clockwork Psycho is simply a better band now. This is one tough, hungry and damn good band that has a kool edginess about them.Best keep an eye on these kats. Highly recommended!!      https://www.facebook.com/clockworkpsychoband/timeline   https://www.reverbnation.com/clockworkpsycho

The Whiskey Daredevils - Nashville Surprise 2015

Whether you love them or hate them  The Whiskey Daredevils   are one ass kickin' band that has always delivered the goods.Hell for over a decade now these kats have been  mixing it up and blowing up genre lines all while pissing off more than a few purist and growing their fan base at the same time . Too some they are cowpunk, alt country, rockabilly to others they are punkabilly ,Americana and  even hard rock to some(you get the picture). The band's ninth album;  "Nashville Surprise" has just been unleashed and let's just say they aren't pulling any punches here. This beast smashes in with 12 original that for the most part drive pretty hard, have attitude and really do impress. You don't have to be a fan to dig this. All the elements that make this band kool are here, only this time out there seems to be a harder more rock n roll feel and that really adds to the album. Highlights: include: " Always","Devil's Grand Marquis", "Milwaukee 8" and "Tuscaloosa Dagger".
You gotta give it to The Whiskey Daredevils they have always blazed their own path and done it well. With "Nashville Surprise" they have delivered their best effort yet .This is fueled injected rock n roll  that has more than enough meat on the bone.Recommended !!  http://www.whiskeydaredevils.com/news/  https://www.facebook.com/Whiskey-Daredevils-48998473360/timeline/

The 3 Kings - Outcasts 2015

The first I heard mention of Germany's The 3 Kings was that they were a killer hard rock band ,the next time the name came up they were rockabilly and then I heard they were punk. Not knowing what to think I went and checked them out. Surprise surprise these kats are a straight-up rock n roll band that happens to throw  rockabilly, country and  punk into the mix.The band basically came together in 2008 and released a 6 song ep called "Vol.1" in 2011. Now in 2015 their  full length debut album," Outcasts" is out and it's one kool and diverse effort. This puppy struts in with 14 confident tracks that hit the mark.We get a mix that ranges from rock n roll to  punkabilly to rockabilly and country. The diversity of the tracks makes this a very  refreshing   effort .Hell these kats seem to switch gears here with a natural ease and you gotta like that.Highlights include " Street Girls & Drunken Sailors" ,"License to Kill", "Bruiser" and "Never Come Back"
Bottom line on "Outcasts" is that The 3 Kings have put together a very strong rock n roll album  that is not afraid to stray out of the fold .Hell it even backs up it's bark. Recommended!  https://www.facebook.com/the3kings/timeline   http://www.the-3-kings.com/

Graveyard Johnnys - Dead Transmission 2015

Been a punkabilly band has never been an easy gig and doesn't change even when your damn good .There is always going to be a large pool of billy purist, psycho's and punkers that will have no use for you. The Graveyard Johnnys have been  and are one of the better punkabilly bands out there and they have a rep has one of the hardest working bands around. With  an album, a couple of singles,an ep a few split albums and also  a whack of compilation spots under their belts, this is a band that really doesn't get the attention they deserve.Hopefully the band's latest effort  " Dead Transmission " can change that. This puppy struts in with 10 tracks that  hit hard and fast with a kool positivity. The tracks range from mainly straight up punkabilly to rock n roll and this  helps gives a freshness to the album even when some of it sounds familiar. Highlights include: "I Won't Wait", "Little Witches",'The Poison" and "Dead Transmission"

The Graveyard Johnnys are in fine form here and "Dead Transmission " is their best release yet and you may want to throw a few bucks down on it.Recommended.  https://www.facebook.com/graveyardjohnnysUK/timeline      http://www.graveyardjohnnys.com/

Sin Kings - The Devil Makes Three 2015

The Sin Kings are one of those bands you kinda gotta root for, this hard workin' outfit  just doesn't seem to get a break.Despite a run of set backs these psycho kats have managed to become a damn good and kool band.Known  to some as  the "Purveyors of Super Charged Punk Rock n' Roll", basically  what they have been kicking out since 2009 is a mix of psychobilly, punkabilly and furious rock n roll. The band's long awaited debut album  "The Devil Makes Three" has finally dropped  and this puppy kicks some butt. We get 10 tracks of which 9 are revved up psycho rock n roll that doesn't  let up and deliver the goods. Hell even the album's last track, the  50's vibe "Crimson Moon" is a mid tempo organ driven number that hits big. Highlights include: "Midnight Rumble", " Devil Makes 3",  "Hey Bar Steward!" and " 8 Heads (In A Duffel Bag)".

The Sin Kings are a band that's on a mission and "The Devil Makes Three" bares that out. This is an  urgent and  kinetic album  that's also pretty good to boot. Recommended!  https://www.facebook.com/SinKings09

The Wreck Kings - Wrecking Machine 2015

Right from their start in 2009 The Wreck Kings have always been a bit out of the box for some psychobilly fans. These German Psycho's play quirky, kool,a bit different and at times chaotic psychobilly that dares you to like it.Hell that's what makes them appealing ,whether some people get it or not.The band's 2010 debut  "Under Pressure" is a solid effort that  managed to make some noise outside out Europe. After 5 years The Wreck Kings are back with their sophomore release "Wrecking Machine" and this puppy may surprise more than a few people that have written these kats off. Punching in with 14 originals this is one fresh and bumpy ride that ranges from psychobilly to rock n roll to punkabilly.Highlights include: " Gotta Go My Way"', "The Walking Dead", "Kiss The Ground" and  quirky "Machines Will Walk The Earth".
With "Wrecking Machine" The Wreck Kings have released a very strong album that is kinda off beat, fresh and diverse.Sure it's not everyone's cup of tea but it's definitely worth the gamble! Recommended.
