Greasemarks - S/T 2018

The Greasemarks are all about "nasty rockabilly".Since emerging from the wastelands of Southern Ontario back in 2007, they have survived numerous line up changes, gain a loyal following but more importantly: earned great word of mouth.Despite a small but strong discography they have landed spots on the biggest rockabilly festivals in North America .Back in 2017 ,that word of mouth helped them land  a well deserved deal with Wild Records . The result is the new  album, "Greasemarks" and to no surprise ,it's pretty damn stout. This puppy punches in with 12 tracks of "nasty rockabilly" that score a direct hit.We get 10 tracks written by the band and two previous unreleased  tracks  written by Big Rude Jake, "Knock'Em Down" and "You Come Undone" by Ronnie Hayward. They also rerecorded "Meatshakes" (a previous single). From a slow burner  to all out rockers there isn't a weak track to be found here. Hell it's easily their best effort yet. Highlights include:  "She's Wild", "Wolf Trash", the instrumental " Black Dice" "Jungle Savage Suzie".

The Greasemarks stay the course with this self titled album and are on top of their game here. It's a straight up winner and one you should grab.Highly recommended!!

The Delta Bombers - Pressure and Time 2018

It's hard to believe The Delta Bombers have been around ten years now.In that time they have proven to be one of the hardest working outfits out there and  one of the best rock n roll bands too boot.At their heart, they are a blues band but the band's strength is their ability to lace the blues with everything from rockabilly, garage, country to straight up rock and more. So far they have 3 outstanding albums plus a live one under their belts and now you can add " Pressure and Time"to the list. Coming in with 9 originals and 3 covers that again run the gamut. This time out they really  up the country, throw in  a surprising cover of "Sympathy For The Devil" and still manage to serve up a whack of revved up dirty and kool rockabilly/ rock n roll. Hell this is one diverse and impressive effort. Then again if your familiar with the band ,you just know it's got to be top shelf. Highlights include : "Jump Back Baby", "Let Her Go", " Pressure and Time", "Hi- Strung Ramble" and "Good Disguise"

Once again The Delta Bombers  deliver the goods with " Pressure and Time". They are in top form here and can still surprise. This is one kool album that will color you impressed. Highly Recommended!!

The Desperados - Won't Be Broken 2015

Back in 2011 a group of young upstarts known as The Desperados made a big splash with the released of their debut album,"On the Rampage". Here was a young and exciting band that managed to deliver a kool and killer album that really did have a whack of people talking about it.Being on Wild Records didn't hurt, but their rock n roll/rockabilly had a freshness and hard edge that you couldn't help but notice.Well after 4 years the long awaited sophomore album, "Won't Be Broken"  is finally out and The Desperados definitely deliver the goods. This time out we get 14 originals of stout and dangerous rock n roll/rockabilly that still comes off damn fresh .Highlights include: " Gave Her My Heart (Now I Want It Back)"," She's My Lover","Two Woman",and "Caught You In A Lie"
You gotta give it to The Desperados, they set the bar high with  "On the Rampage" and have surpassed it with "Won't Be Broken". These kats are very much alive and kicking  A diffident  must have album.Highly recommended!!  https://www.facebook.com/ocdesperados?fref=ts

Jake and the Lawless Men - Grande y Sucio 2014

Young Irish rockabilly upstart  Jake Allen  has been making noise now for a few years now but back in 2012  he really grabbed attention with the very kool ep "Long Lost Heart". Hell it was good enough in fact  that  Wild Records went and snagged him.Since then this hard working outfit has gone from being called Jake Allen and His Band  to Jake and the Lawless Men. Now in 2014 the long awaited debut album, "Grande y Sucio" is finally here and it was diffidently worth the wait. This puppy strolls in with 12 solid rockabilly tunes(9 of which are originals) that rock, bop and will have you moving. There are splashes of the blues and some country thrown into the mix as well, all of which add a kool vibe to the album.Highlights include: "Mess About Man" ," Cheap Thrills","This Night" and "Recipe For Love".
The title of the album "Grande y Sucio" translates to Big and Dirty and that's not far off the mark .This puppy is also a pretty damn strong effort that is fresh and very appealing.Recommended!   https://www.facebook.com/thelawlessmen

Pat Capocci - Pantherburn Stomp 2014

Pat Capocci is without a doubt one of the best artist out there and no one who is familiar with his catalog will argue that.I'm willing to bet a lot of rockabilly kats don't even know his name and that's a shame! With a handful of albums under his belt this Aussie  has earned a reputation as one of best when it comes to rockabilly. Now with his first release for Wild Records , Mr.Capocci  is showing that he's more than just a rockabilly guy. Pantherburn Stomp is nothing short of a tour de force.Clocking in with 13 original tracks that range from straight up rockabilly ,r&b to rock n roll and tinges of jazz. This is dirty ,intense and extremely good.Highlights include: " Pantherburn Stomp", "Genie In A Bottle","The Cobra" and "Thunderchief".
Simply put  "Pantherburn Stomp" is one of the years best  and is diffidently Capocci's best album yet and that's saying something. It is an album that raises the bar and a must have! If you don't know Pat Capocci is, you should and you can start right here! Highly Recommended!!  https://www.facebook.com/PatCapoccimusic/timeline    http://patcapocci.com.au/

The Hi- Boys - Shake 2014

No one can accuse The Hi-Boys of not going for it.This Australian band has literally come out of nowhere  to signing up with Wild Records in a span of less than 2 years, that's impressive. This is a rockabilly band that says it plays "Wild traditional rock n roll music". The band's ep from 2013 managed to snag some  radio airplay( mainly the song "Corn Liquor") here in North America and interest in them  keeps growing. That said the band's debut album "Shake" certainly  will live up to all expectations .We get 13 original tracks of  kool rockabilly that will have you up movin' and grovin'. This is rockabilly with little flashes of country and blues tossed in and the results are freakin' catchy and also damn good! Highlights include: "Shake"," Walking Out Your Door","I'm Gone" and "Trouble"
The Hi-boys have achieved a pretty good balance with "Shake". There is enough here to keep the  rockabilly purist happy  but it diffidently will also appeal to everybody else. Some albums are easy to like and "Shake" is one of them. Damn straight! Recommended

The Rhythm Shakers - VooDoo 2014

It's kinda hard to believe it's been over 5 years(2009) since  Los Angeles based The Rhythm Shakers released  their killer debut album, “Flipsville”. In 2011 the band followed up their debut with the single"Love Spilled Across The Floor" and then the "Shake Your Hips" single in 2012.  Over time the band's raw and lethal brand of rockabilly/rock n roll has managed to attract a pretty strong  and ever growing fan base. Hell this is a group that has a rep for killing it live and been straight up kool. All which brings us to their new sophomore album "Voodoo" and let's just say this puppy is raw, rough, full of attitude and just damn good! Clocking in with 14 tracks (11 originals) this is serious rock n roll/rockabilly that times oozes the blues. Basically they stick to what they do best but  here they kick it up a  few notches. Highlights include:"Home Wrecker", " Make Me Say", "What If I Said" and " Rather Be Alone".
It may have been a long time coming but " VooDoo" is a stellar album  and well worth the wait. The Rhythm Shakers just keep getting better with every release. Let's  just say it's definitely  one of the better albums to come out this year. Highly recommended !   https://www.facebook.com/TheRhythmShakers/timeline?ref=page_internal
