Ed Cavin & The Blue Kings - Street Joint 2018

     
Back in early 2016,the Swedish rockabilly young guns known as  Ed Cavin & The Blue Kings released a  cover version of  "Love Me" and suddenly these cats found themselves in demand.As a result they were quickly signed to the kool label, Enviken Records .In 2017 they struck again with the single,"Don't Be Like That". Once again the buzz about these cats was pretty big and they managed to garner international airplay.Now the band is back with their stout debut album "Street Joint" and this puppy more than lives up to the buzz about them. Strutin' in with 16 tracks of some pretty sweet rockabilly and real rock n rock.We get a mix of straight up rockers to boppers and even a couple of slow burners.The covers are all strong but it's some of the originals that really shine here.It's a damn solid ride that will color you impressed.Highlights include: "Street Joint", "Don't Be Like That", "Jiggle Wiggle Walkin' Baby" and a cover of " Brush Pile Burn".

     
      Ed Cavin & The Blue Kings  really deliver the goods with " Street Joint". This is one kool slab of rockabilly that leaves you wanting more You can't go wrong here,it's that good.Highly recommended !!

The Black Frame Spectacle - Kick It Around 2018

   The Black Frame Spectacle always give it their all.Hell they make killer records and when it comes to playing live,lets just say very few bands want to go on after them. Funny thing thou they sure take their time when it comes to releasing new music but boy it's always worth the wait.It's been three years since  their last release, a self titled ep. Now they are back and better than ever. Their latest  effort, " Kick It Around" cranks it up and brings on enough intensity to fuel a city. This puppy smashes the clock  with 11 original tracks that mix punkabilly ,hard rock,rocknroll  and shades of rockabilly into a  kool thrill ride.For the most part this has the pedal to the metal but they ease it back on a couple of tracks.Highlights include "The Legend Of Big Dumb Steve","Hard To Believe", "There Be Trolls","Back To The Blues" and "Kick It Around"
         

   
 The Black Frame Spectacle are a band you should definitely get familiar with and " Kick It Around" is a good starting point. This is one damn stout outfit that rocks!  Highly recommended!!

The Huaraches - Curl Up With The Huaraches 2018

 One of Canada's finest surf bands, The Huaraches are about to throw you a slick and kool curveball. After two quick and  killer albums back in 2013 and 2014, the band is now back with"Curl Up With The Huaraches", their 3rd and best album yet.This time out, they once again elevate their game and veer off into somewhat uncharted territory.We get 11 original tracks that range from a little traditional surf to surfpunk and straight up  psychedelic.Hell we even get a 50's inspire instro burner that kills it.Into the mix they throw in some trumpet,sax,lapsteel and a whack of keys.This is dangerous and fun surf that will color you impressed.Highlights include: Three Up, Three Down,"Wolfe Island Make Out Beach", "Breakfast Of Challengers" and "It's Called A Cave Stomp".

     
        The Huaraches are  evolving  and getting stronger with time. "Curl Up With The Huaraches" is proof of that.This is modern surf that takes a backseat to no one. Highly recommended!

Hellbilly Club - Terror Tales 2018

For over 23 years now  the Hellbilly Club as been dishing out some tasty and at times eclectic rockabilly/ psychobilly. With a rap sheet of 7 albums under their belts, this outfit has proven to be a damn good and unique.They also aren't afraid to change things up. It's been 4 years  since they released the impressive "Subhumanos", their last album.Now  their eighth album, "Terror Tales"is out and one again they have shifted gears.This time out we get 12 tracks of damn stout old school psychobilly. It's also a big shot of horror, from ghost ,witches, the undead and more.But don't be fooled here this is one fun ride.We also get a blast of hard driving slapping bass and twangy guitars, that make this a brisk and kool affair.Highlights include: "She Came Back From The Grave", "Spanish Kats Attack", "You'll Be My Victim", and "Lost In The Jungle"

       
       With "Terror Tales",the Hellbilly Club have shown they still have a whack a gas in the tank and they can still surprise .This is a pretty strong release that you should throw some of your hard earned cash down on. Highly recommended!

Punch Drunk Cabaret - This is a Disturbance 2018

  When it comes to Punch Drunk Cabaret, you need to know a couple of things. This is a daring,unique and original outfit,that's flat out killer.With every release they step it up and always surprise.That said the masters of Steampunk Swing are back with their 4th album, "This is a Disturbance". Not holding back, this puppy goes straight for the throat.We get 11 original tracks that  rock pretty hard.Once again they deliver a great mix of steampunk,billy,swing,blues and rock n roll. It's also their darkest album and has a shot of anger, too boot.However don't let that fool you ,it's also pretty kool and a damn refreshing thrill ride.Highlights include: "Flag. Bible. Gun", "Bucketful Of Boom", "Bring Your Teeth","Burn Down The Chicken House" and "Under The Darkest Sky"
