The Brains - Satana Tarantula 2020

Back in 2015 The Brains released the kool "Out In The Dark".Since then a lot has happened with frontman Rene D La Muerte forming Batcave Records and the band Bat! as well as a few other projects. Then bassman Collin the Dead joined up with The Hypnohonics. For many fans of The Brains it looked like the band was dead in the water. Well have no fear, they're back with  the release of their 8th album " Satana Tarantula" and they aren't pulling any punches. This is a kinetic strike with 11 originals and 1 cover (Electric Avenue) of psychobilly mayhem .Hell they even throw in some horn and piano action for your pleasure.Arguably it's their most diverse release ranging from a 50's inspired rocker to all out psychobilly. There is also guest appearances from Danny B Harvey, Patrica Day (The Horrorpops) and a few others.Highlights include: "C'Mon Lets Do It All Night"  "Fire", "Hellhounds", 'Swing It" and "Satana Tarantula".

With  "Satana Tarantula" ,The Brains show no signs of slowing down.It hits hard and fast. They mix it up a bit and deliver the goods. This is another killer release by a band that is still on top of their game.Highly recommended!!!

BAT! - Bat Music For Bat People 2019

Right from their start, back in the spring of 2018,BAT! have been big news. It's not everyday a so called  superband forms. In this case the band's line up is damn stacked: Rene De La Muerte Garcia (The Brains,Nekromantix),Dusty Graves(Stellar Corpses) and Daniel De Leon(Rezurex).Hell even if you know just a little bit about psychobilly, this is pretty impressive. As a result there has been a whack of interest and some major hype about the band's debut album, "Bat Music For Bat People". This puppy blows the doors off all the hype and will color you impressed. It punches in hard with 15 originals and 5 covers and it's not all psychobilly. This is one mean and fun slab that throws in straight up rock n roll, punk, surf  to rockabilly and garage. If that wasn't enough for you, they also add a little 50's inspired rock n roll and even a dash of poppiness. In other words there is something for everyone here and it works.Highlights include: "We Fight", "Devil Woman From Outer Space", "Getaway Car","Graveyard Girl", "Monster Party" and "Villain".

These cats could have played it save but they didn't.Instead they released a surprisingly fun and killer album that's one of the years best.  Bat Music For Bat People is a refreshing blast that you gotta grab.Highly recommended!!!

The Coffin Daggers - Aggravatin’ Rhythms 2016

The Coffin Daggers  may not have a big discography for a band that's been around since 1999.Hell they have released a couple of singles ,an ep and only 2 albums, the last been in 2011. However each release has  been pretty impressive. This is one surf punk outfit that knows how too do some serious damage and as a result there is a large, loyal and growing  fan base for these kats.In 2015 the band hitched up with Cleopatra Records and the results are now out  with their third album " Aggravatin’ Rhythms". This  mad puppy comes out swinging  hard, fast and most of all delivers on all accounts. We get 14 tracks (a mix of originals  and  covers) of instrumental surf punk that range from garagy  to smash mouth .This is a powerful brew that's stirred with hard driving guitar and a damn kool organ. Highlights include:  "Instigator", "Five-Five", " The Thing" , and " Wake Up Screaming".
There was some buzz surrounding the release of  "Aggravatin’ Rhythms' "and that was good to see. This is one very strong and intense album but it's a fun ride to boot .Yeah it kicks butt and that's what you would expect.  Highly Recommended!!!     https://www.facebook.com/coffindagger/timeline    http://coffindaggers.com/
