Henry & The Bleeders - Looking Backwards 2018

   The one thing you can guarantee about Henry & The Bleeders  is that you don't really  know what to expect from them and that makes them an exciting act. With couple of pretty kool albums on their rap sheet this  unique billy based outfit has  put  their boot print all over the rockin' musical map  and their damn good at it. Now they are  back with " Looking Backwards"(their third album and second on Western Star) and this time out they up the voltage. Strutting  in with 14 tracks that will light a fire under your butt .This is a wild,intense and kinetic ride that doesn't hold back. It's a flat out winner that has something  for pretty much everyone.Some will say this is  modern psychobilly and I ain't going to argue that. Like in the past the band draws on everything from rockabilly,punk,hillbilly to r&b and more.There is a sense of urgency here and that adds a big punch to the affair. Highlights include: "H.A.T.B", "This Town", "Padrone", "Letter To Moseley" and " I Gotta Rock On"psychobilly, old school psychobilly

 
      Simply put " Looking Backwards" is one mighty fine and killer rock n roll album.It's also their best yet .Yeah these cats just keep getting better.If you aren't familiar with   Henry & The Bleeders,you should be. This is your wake up call! Highly recommended!!

EightBomb - High Heeled Devil 2018

When tragedy struck EightBomb back in 2015 they could have easily packed it in but instead they regrouped and continued on. Kudos to them and as a result "bombabilly" lives on and that's a good thing. EightBomb has always been a kool and unique act,their blend of neorockabilly,rock n roll and punkabilly has lead the band to be coined "original not traditional rock n roll". That said these cats are back with their 5th and latest release,"High Heeled Devil" and this puppy doesn't disappoint.Clocking in with 8 winning tracks that deliver the goods.It may not be as sonic as some of their pass work is, but it's a more balanced attack and still manages to punch it up at times.We also get 2 members taking turns on lead vocals, which helps spice up the affair . Also Jeroen Hammers (Batmobile) makes a guest appearance on the track "A Scar".Highlights include:: Killer Babe", "Empty Heart", Nice Neverless" and " High Heeled Devil".

 
   EightBomb have mixed it up a bit with "High Heeled Devil" and despite only 8 tracks ,this is a sweet slice of neobilly/rock n roll .Hell it's bombabilly and you gotta like that.Recommended!!!

Les Venturas - Retropedalage 2018

   Over the years France has produce more than a few damn fine and interesting surf bands .One of latest bands to emerge  is Les Venturas. Starting out in 2014 as a Ventures tribute act they managed to make more than a few waves  in Europe.In July of 2015 they released the sweet  " Tribute To The Ventures, 17 Surf Rock Classic Hits".Since then this surf trio has continued to gain a rep as a stout band that executes, top shelf  "old school" inspired  surf.In 2017 the band was picked up by Productions Impossible Records and now the results are in.The band's sophomore album "Retropedalage"hits the shore with 14 original tracks of kool traditional inspired surf .This time out they ratchet up the speed and aggression a notch.You could say they let loose a little  here and raise the tension,all while still keeping it still planted in traditional surf.Highlights include: "Escalator", "Vodka & Paella", "Retropedalage" and "Seraphino"

     
     Overall " Retropedalage" is a pretty strong and refreshing surf album and one you should pick up.If  Les Venturas aren't on your radar ,they should be.Highly recommended!

The Delta Bombers - Pressure and Time 2018

   It's hard to believe The Delta Bombers have been around ten years now.In that time they have proven to be one of the hardest working outfits out there and  one of the best rock n roll bands too boot.At their heart,they are a blues band but the band's strength is their ability to lace the blues with everything from rockabilly, garage, country to straight up rock and more. So far they have 3 outstanding albums plus a live one under their belts and now you can add " Pressure and Time"to the list. Coming in with 9 originals and 3 covers that again run the gamut.This time out they really  up the country, throw in  a surprising cover of "Sympathy For The Devil" and still manage to serve up a whack of revved up dirty and kool rockabilly/ rock n roll. Hell this is one diverse and impressive effort. Then again if your familiar with the band ,you just know it's got to be top shelf. Highlights include : "Jump Back Baby", "Let Her Go", " Pressure and Time", "Hi- Strung Ramble" and "Good Disguise"

   
  Once again The Delta Bombers  deliver the goods with " Pressure and Time". They are in top form here and can still surprise.This is one kool album that will color you impressed. Highly Recommended!!
