Darrel Higham, Jittery Jack - Darrel Higham Meets Jittery Jack! 2016

If your  into rockabilly your going to know who Jittery Jack and  Darrel Higham are.Both are big names who also have deservedly big reputations.Back in the summer of 2015 these cats got together and started to lay down an album.You just knew that this was going to be killer.While the results are now out and man sparks fly.This puppy struts in confidence and more than lives up to what you would expect.Clocking in with 12 tracks that for the most part rock out and leaving you wanting more.This is top notch rockabilly/ rock n roll from start to finish.It's almost a  50/ 50 split with the songs here and the resulting mix is  well balanced and has a great feel. Highlights include: " You Can't Touch","Another Barroom Fight", " Frankie's Back In Town","Red Hot Mama" and "The Remedy"

Norm & The Nightmarez - Psychobilly DNA 2016

Norm & The Nightmarez busted out in 2014 with "Psychobilly Infection" a pretty kool debut album of old school and modern  psychobilly that was catchy and a bit different.One got the feeling that these cats are not only good but they also had a whack more to offer.Well the band's sophomore album "Psychobilly DNA" is now out and this puppy ups the ante and more than delivers the goods.Clocking in with 15 tracks that shake things up and is hard to resist. Once again we get  psychobilly that contains elements of both old school and modern.Throw in a healthy slabs of rockabilly and rock n roll and the result is one diverse and refreshing album. Highlights include: " Timeslip ", "Bury Me With My Guitar"," Psychobilly DNA","Misery" and "The Devil's Gate"

     
              Norm & The Nightmarez have another winner with "Psychobilly DNA". It won't overwhelm you but it hits you right and sticks.This puppy will grow on you and is well worth checking out.Recommended!!

The Spastiks - Sewer Surfing 2016

Since emerging from the depths of Brooklyn back in 2013 The Spastiks have been a band that many psychos have keep an eye on.After all here was an actual  old school psychobilly that has flare,is fun and pretty damn good to boot.In 2014 the band released a  4 song demo managed to snag some deserved and solid airplay around the globe.Early this year(2016) they released the killer ep"Cannibal Clan" and it firmly put these cats on the map.Not slowing down they have now released their debut album "Sewer Surfing" and this puppy is a blast of fun.Clocking in at around 25 minutes it hits you with 10 songs that leave you wanting more.We get 7 new tracks here with 1 off the demo and 2 off "Cannibal Clan".  This is old school psychobilly done very well and doesn't take itself overly serious as a result it's a brisk ride.Highlights include: "Radiation Baby", "Dynamite", the country flavored "My Baby Was Abducted by Aliens" and  "Retard"

The Tsunamibots - The Crushing 2016

From parts unknown(some say Vermont) come The Tsunamibots,  a robotic surf machine that's bound determined to crush the human race. Just saying but make no mistake this is a killer surf outfit that knows what smash mouth surf is.With 2 stout eps under their belts and a fair size following on the eastern side of North America  it has become time to step up their Robotic Revolution. That said the outfit's debut album has now dropped and it's a dewsy.Simply called " The Crushing" and believe me it lives up to it's name.This puppy smashes in with 11 tracks of robotic surf.From a little aggressive traditional to surf punk to smash mouth this hits hard and fast.They even throw in some lyrics on a couple of tracks just so you know this is a robotic uprising.Over all it's powerful,has a sense of urgency and is a whack of fun.High lights include: "Automaton", " Sold by Jawas", "Robotic Meltdown", " Theme Code" and " Short Term Internal Memory Failure".

The Moonshine Stalkers - Last Day on Earth 2016

For some The Moonshine Stalkers  are still young upstarts but these cats have now been around 5 years.With an ep and their debut album "Spatter House (both killer) they have firmly established themselves as one of the koolest and better psychobilly bands out there. So now in 2016 The Moonshine Stalkers are back with the sophomore effort  "Last Day on Earth" and again they deliver the goods .This time out we get 10 killer and fun tracks that beat the sophomore jinx with ease .We get a modern take on old school psychobilly but they shift the gears a little bit here.Not only is this modern psychobilly but at  times this comes off as rock n roll.  The band sounds more crisp,kinetic and more confidence than ever. Highlights include: "S.T,D.", "Speed Street", " Last Day On Earth" and  "Miss Murder".

            Without a doubt "Last Day on Earth" is a flat out winner The Moonshine Stalkers don't go for that single knock out punch here instead they hit you with a whack of well placed hits that win you over.This puppy is well written,executed and produced(Doyle of Diablo Records). The Magnetix - Rabbit The Robot Robot The Rocket 2016

Few bands as they say really "explode onto the scene",The Magnetix are one.Hell back in 2011 they came out of the gate with 2 flat out killer albums "With Their Amazing First Album" and "Boo-Bop- A-Boo". This was and is old school psychobilly that nails it.After that fast start the band toured lots  and garnered a pretty good following.However fans have had to wait along time for new material and that wait ended earlier this year with the release of  the excellent  ep  "The Birdman". Also the long awaited 3rd album " Rabbit The Robot  Robot The Rocket" is finally here and yes it's better than damn good. Slapping in with 12 originals and 2 covers of crisp and kool old school psychobilly that will have you up and moving.Sure it may be more of the same  but this time out they seem to turn up the heat.From start to finish this is  strong ,consisted and vital, with no week tracks. Highlights include: "Martian Fever", "Do It Like Gorilla Does" , "Me The Ghost", " and  "Cool Daddy-O"

     
    Once again The Magnetix have dropped another killer album with " Rabbit The Robot  Robot The Rocket " . The Infernos - Too Hot To Handle! 2016

Over the last few years Australia's The Infernos have been ripping up the scene down under and have started to develop a strong international following.The reasons are easy to see and hear ,this is an outfit that's known to be a  pretty good live act  and play a brand of infectious neo rockabilly you can't help but like. With 2 strong albums ,"On Fire"(2012)and "Still Fired Up"(2014) under their belts, this became a band to keep an eye on.Now these cats are back with "Too Hot To Handle!" an impressive effort  that deliver the goods.Coming  in with  an intro and 14  original tracks of neo rockabilly/ rockabilly with a dash of rock n roll.This is a refreshing fun ride that aims to please.Highlights include: "She's The One", "Treat Me Right", " Feel So Bad" and "No Way Out".
       With "Too Hot To Handle!" The Infernos have stepped  it up and the result is a flat out winner from start to finish.You can't go wrong with this one. Highly Recommended!!
