Don Diego Trio - Twang Kitchen 2015

In 2014, after 20 years in the Adels  Diego Geraci (aka Don Diego) decided to move on.Not content to sit still he has formed the Don Diego Trio a rockabilly/ country and hillbilly outfit  that's pretty stout.They then signed  onto Rydell Records and their debut album dropped earlier this year. Twang Kitchen  cooks up damn good with 15 tracks plus a neat intro.We get 10 originals and 5 covers that range from rockabilly to old school country  to swing and hillbilly.Hell there is even shades of the blues thrown into the mix.This is one well balanced and executed album that really grows on you. Highlights include: " Good Guy", " Howl", " Brand New Road" and  a neat cover of " Honky Tonk Mind".

    With  Twang Kitchen  the  Don Diego Trio have made a strong statement.This is a diverse,strong and great sounding album by a top notch band. Boss Fink - R.P.M. 2015

On the strength of one ep,"Finksville" and a whack of pedigree many fans of surf music are expecting big things from  Boss Fink.Since lighting up the So-Cal  scene a couple years ago these kats have earned a solid rep and have become kinda a buzz band .Their brand of hotrod ,drag and rat fink inspired surf is just flat out kool.The band's debut album has been highly anticipated  and comes with  some high expectations.That said, the debut is now here and  "R.P.M" definitely delivers in spades.This beast  smashes ashore with 15 killer tracks(13 new) of first wave  inspired surf that more than holds it's own.When you hear about hot rod, rat fink inspired surf  this is what there talking about.  From start to finish this is one powerful and kinetic ride.No dogs here ,it's all more than good.Standout tracks include: " Pontiac Chief", "Motorvixen" , " Boss Fink Twist" and "5th Horseman" which first appeared in 2013.

    Simply put "R.P.M." is one really killer album that should be in everyone's collection.Hell it's one of the better albums to come down the pike in a while. THE SPACE CADETS - CRASH LANDED 2015

The Space Cadets are back on earth and these kats are looking to cook up some serious fun.This legendary outfit went into orbit back in 1995, put out an ep and 2 killer albums,the last one in 2000.The band disappeared  in 2012  and a "best of"  album was released in 2014.To many they are one of the best rockabilly bands to come out of England.Hell what makes then even more impressive is that this is really an all star side project  that actually is good.  Now the kings of Astrobilly are back  and reloaded  with a new line up and the result is the  pretty damn kool "Crash Landed". This puppy lands hard with 14 original  fun and vibrant tracks that will have you up and at it.We get a whack of sci-fi ,50's and atomic age inspired  rockabilly/ rock n roll .Also there is a splash of country and a little blues added into the mix.Highlights include: "Space Cadet Psychos" , " Be Boppin' Baby " , "In Space" and "Gonna Ball Ball Rock Tonight".

     No matter how you slice it "Crash Landed"  is a killer album that has a ton of  appeal and not just for the rockabilly crowd.Kid you not ,these kats  sound  just as good today as they did 15 years ago.Don't believe me then check it out! The 3 Kings - Outcasts 2015

The first I heard mention of Germany's The 3 Kings was that they were a killer hard rock band ,the next time the name came up they were rockabilly and then I heard they were punk.Not knowing what to think I went and checked them out. Surprise surprise these kats are a straight-up rock n roll band that happens to throw  rockabilly, country and  punk into the mix.The band basically came together in 2008 and released a 6 song ep called "Vol.1" in 2011. Now in 2015 their  full length debut album," Outcasts" is out and it's one kool and diverse effort.This puppy struts in with 14 confident tracks that hit the mark.We get a mix that ranges from rock n roll to  punkabilly to rockabilly and country.The diversity of the tracks makes this a very  refreshing   effort .Hell these kats seem to switch gears here with a natural ease and you gotta like that.Highlights include " Street Girls & Drunken Sailors" ,"License to Kill", "Bruiser" and "Never Come Back"

The Minestompers - The Minestompers 2015

You gotta give it to a band that let's itself be promoted as "Colognes most hated retards". Chances  are The Minestompers aren't retards and maybe they are hated by some  but one thing for sure is that they are a pretty good psychobilly band.Since 2008 they have been beating and kicking out some kool old school style psychobilly that's hard to ignore.This is an outfit that has some serious pedigree and the chops to go along with it.Fans of the band have waited years for an album and now that wait is over .The self titled debut  smashes in with 14 tracks(13 originals and 1 cover)  that will and do impress.This is psychobilly that is old school ,at times is hard ,plays fast and loose, has a sense of humor and really never takes the foot off the gas.Highlights include: " Invasion" ," Demon Twist", "Mama's Clit" and " Leprechaun Boogie"                                                                                         

                                                                                                   

  The one cover on the album is also worth noting,it's a kool version of "Possessed To Skate",the Suicidal Tendencies track.The Minestompers may have taken a few years to release their debut but it's diffidently been worth the wait.Overall this is one serious stout album that's fun and  delivers the goods.Recommended!!   https://www.facebook.com/theminestompers/timeline
