The Boners - Hell Yeah 2014

Since 2009 The Boners have been laying down some pretty kool, greasy,bluesy rockabilly.It's no stretch to say this a modern rockabilly band that loves the blues.The band deservedly managed to grab some major  attention in early 2014 when out of the blue Wild Records signed them.Well then things got very interesting:an album was signed sealed and then not delivered to Wild Records.The band then jumped ship to Rhythm Bomb and the wait began and now in 2015  that album is finally out and it definitely  has been worth the wait.Talk about been loaded, "Hell Yeah" crashes in with force,we get 12 original revved up tracks of modern rockabilly that deliver in spades.From straight up rockers to rockabilly blues to even some shades of country,this puppy nails it  and will have you up and at it as they say.There is even some killer harp action too boot.Highlights include: "Muchacha!", "The Train Song", "Lockdown" and "Baby Shaker"

Wanton - Pick Your Poison 2015

  Screaming out of the wilds of Finland comes Wanton a psychobilly band that wants to put the fun back into rock n roll.Since 2011 these kats have been busy making a solid name for themselves with their hard driving/rockin' psychobilly.The band's demo  in 2012 sagged  some attention  and helped create interest in them outside of Finland  . Hell they even managed to sign on with the small but impressive Ring of Fire Records (out of Germany). The band's debut album  " Pick Your Poison " comes in with 14 original (including tracks from their demo) of ass kicking ,horror laced psychobilly that isn't heavy handed. At times this is a pretty good blend of psychobilly and straight up rock(that's a good thing). Highlights include: "The Devil Drives A Cadillac", "Drunkabilly Stomp", "The Seance" and the killer "My Box" which  has some harp action going on.

JD McPherson - Let the Good Times Roll 2015

Back in 2010  JD McPherson  unleashed the killer album "Signs and Signifiers" onto an unsuspecting world.Talk about blowing up ,hell the album still has legs and McPherson  became the next big thing ,from  rockabilly to blues to just even  roots rock fans he became the man.Well he's back with his sophomore effort " Let the Good Times Roll "  and this puppy steps up big time.Bigger, bolder and more diverse than his debut .Coming in with 11 tracks  that stray from rock n roll to r&b and at times has a rockabilly vibe .We get a mix of straight up rockers to slow burners and  McPherson and his band nail it all.Highlights include:" It Shook Me Up" ," Mother Of Lies", " Head Over Heels" and "Let The Good Times Roll"

      There are some people who thought JD McPherson was a one off lucky guy with "Signs and Signifiers" .Well  "Let the Good Times Roll ' will dispel that, this is an album that is full of heart and soul that you can't help but like it.Anyway you cut it this is  impressive. GRAVE STOMPERS - Black Leather Ghouls From Fiendsville 2015

Psycho kats the Grave Stompers  have been kicking around the wilds of Germany since 1993.Over the years the band has released  a few singles  and 4 solid albums albums.The last album was 2008's "Spooked Cursed & Haunted". Since then the band  had 3 tracks on the "Psychobilly Ratpack 4" compilation in 2011.With the release of  thier 5th album "Black Leather Ghouls From Fiendsville" the band is back as strong as ever .We get a kool  mix of psychobilly that leans more towards old school than not and neo rockabilly.Like on past efforts there is a horror angle here but it doesn't drag the album down.  Highlights include " Getting On", " Phantom Rock", " Black Leather Ghouls From Fiendsville" and  "The Spook ".

      
    The Grave Stompers  have put together a string of albums that are strong, consistent, and smart. Black Leather Ghouls From Fiendsville continues that streak .Hell this is neat and fun to boot.You should check these kats out.
