The Raygun Cowboys - Heads Are Gonna Roll! 2015

The Raygun Cowboys have been kicking out their refreshing and fun brand of rockabilly for 15 years now. Hell they are kinda known as that "Canuck rockabilly band with a horn section".With 3 pretty good albums under their belts these kats have developed a kool and unique sound.The band's latest effort "Heads Are Gonna Roll!"could be a game breaker for them.This is darker and more diverse than previous albums  but still maintains the band's signature sound. Coming in with 11 tracks that at times romp pretty hard  to a country number .There is also  a female duet ,some  harp action and a little fiddle.But the overall effect is damn good,these kats deliver the goods here.Highlights include: " Heads Are Gonna Roll', "You Were the One", "Until Next Time" and "Bitter Shame".
         The Raygun Cowboys  have always been a band that refuses to be pigeonholed and over the years they have  stepped up and  evolved into a better band. If anything "Heads Are Gonna Roll!" is a great example of that.This shows just how good they really are and it's  pretty ballsy.Highly Recommended

Astro Zombies - Frogs Legs 2015

Over the years The Astro Zombies have always done their own thing,sometimes quirky, never boring and  usually unpredictable.Hell that's part of their appeal and regardless if you like them or not they are a kool and major psychobilly band . It's been around 4 years since the band released their 5th album "From Strength To Strength". Well now there back with "Frog Legs"and this is one killer album.This puppy slides in with 12 tracks of old school psychobilly and  a rock n roll flare that will blow you away.It's no stretch to say this is  a fun, fresh  and vital album  that leaves you wanting more.Highlights include: " Alligator Man","Go Out!","Attack Of The Green Farts","Crazy Monkey"and " Frogs Legs".

Sin Kings - The Devil Makes Three 2015

The Sin Kings are one of those bands you kinda gotta root for,this hard workin' outfit  just doesn't seem to get a break.Despite a run of set backs these psycho kats have managed to become a damn good and kool band.Known  to some as  the "Purveyors of Super Charged Punk Rock n' Roll", basically  what they have been kicking out since 2009 is a mix of psychobilly, punkabilly and furious rock n roll.The band's long awaited debut album  "The Devil Makes Three" has finally dropped  and this puppy kicks some butt. We get 10 tracks of which 9 are revved up psycho rock n roll that doesn't  let up and deliver the goods. Hell even the album's last track, the  50's vibe "Crimson Moon" is a mid tempo organ driven number that hits big. Highlights include: "Midnight Rumble", " Devil Makes 3",  "Hey Bar Steward!" and " 8 Heads (In A Duffel Bag)".

      The Sin Kings are a band that's on a mission and "The Devil Makes Three" bares that out.This is an  urgent and  kinetic album  that's also pretty good to boot. Recommended!  https://www.facebook.com/SinKings09

The 24th Street Wailers - Where Evil Grows 2015

 The 24th Street Wailers  are a damn fine band.They have gone from being the kool upstarts  of the Canadian blues scene to flat out one of the best bands to come out of Canada in recent years.This is one outfit that has  it going on.Playing a brand of "rockin' blues" that is equal parts rock n roll, r&b and blues that at times has a rockabilly flare to it.Since 2009 they have released 4 excellent albums  including 2014's stellar "Wicked" and now comes the band's  latest effort "Where Evil Grows". This puppy struts in with a whack of attitude and backs it up.We get  12 originals and one cover  that are sure to impress. Once again the band delivers a  delicious  stew  of blues, rock n roll and r&b.From all out rockers to slow burners,this puppy snarls at you one minute, the next minute it wants to seduce you.Highlights include: "Cursed", "You Know",  "Can't Fight It" and "Don't Cross Me"

The Wreck Kings - Wrecking Machine 2015

 

Right from their start in 2009 The Wreck Kings have always been a bit out of the box for some psychobilly fans.These German Psycho's play quirky,kool,a bit different and at times chaotic psychobilly that dares you to like it.Hell that's what makes them appealing ,whether some people get it or not.The band's 2010 debut  "Under Pressure" is a solid effort that  managed to make some noise outside out Europe.After 5 years The Wreck Kings are back with their sophomore release "Wrecking Machine" and this puppy may surprise more than a few people that have written these kats off. Punching in with 14 originals this is one fresh and bumpy ride that ranges from psychobilly to rock n roll to punkabilly.Highlights include: " Gotta Go My Way"', "The Walking Dead", "Kiss The Ground" and  quirky "Machines Will Walk The Earth". 

        With "Wrecking Machine" The Wreck Kings have released a very strong album that is kinda off beat, fresh and diverse.Sure it's not everyone's cup of tea but it's definitely worth the gamble! Recommended.
