Numbskulls - Back Fae The Deid 2017

Scottish psychos the Numbskulls have been dead and buried for a hell of a long time .So there arising from the grave last year put more than a few people on notice.Back in 1990 their debut album "Psychophobia" made a splash and their second album "Life In Limbo"was recorded in 93 but wasn't released until 97.For many they are the best psychobilly band to come out of Scotland. That said they are returning in a big way. These lads signed up with Diablo Records, went in to the studio with Doyley and the result is the hard rockin' "Back Fae The Deid ". This puppy comes out of the gate damn strong and brings it on.We get 10 original tracks that mash psychobilly with  rock n roll. It's also laced with  Scottish / Celtic themes that only add to this thrill ride. Every song here rocks and it really is equal parts psychobilly and hard driving rock n roll.Highlights include: "Midgees" ,"Bean Nighe", "Dunnottar Siege" and "Guts'n Glory"
Rumor has it that these cats got back together to have some fun and or for some unfinished business. One thing for sure is "Back Fae The Deid" is a refreshing and killer album. It's also surprisingly one of the years best .It will color you impressed!   Highly recommended!!

Emma and The Ragmen - In the Know

You may not have heard of Scotland's  Emma and The Ragmen , but believe me this is one outfit you gotta check out. They have only been around for a couple of years and in that time they have developed into a top shelf outfit. Their 2016  single "Ragtop Roll"/In The Know  is pretty impressive and despite been a limited release from Rampage Records  it managed to turn a few of heads and received  some international airplay. However  they still remain one of the best kept secrets in the rockabilly world. Hopefully that's about to change with the release of their debut album "In The Know". Clocking in with 12 tracks (6 originals) this  puppy struts in with a whack of confidence that's backed up big. From straight up rockabilly to a slow burner to  kool rockers this baby packs a punch. We even get a whack of stout driving sax that ups the game here.Highlights include"All Alone", "In The Know","Put My Right Foot Down","Ragtop Roll" and the stout hard driving  "Backwards Bop"

Not only is "In The Know" a mighty fine debut it's flat out a killer album .You definitely want to pick up this one.Hell your neighbors will love you when you crank this baby up.Highly recommended !!! https://www.facebook.com/emmaandtheragmen/

Véloniños - Véloniños 2016

You may not heard of the Véloniños but to a whole wack of  people( including myself) out there, they are a big deal. With two thirds of The Shakin' Pyraminds in the lineup ,you just know there is something special going on here.Last year in 2015 the band released the stellar self titled ep and now they have followed it up with their self titled debut album. We get 10 tracks here that run the gamut from rockabilly, blues to rock n roll and shades country. The band changes things up with an ease and coolness that will color you impressed. Highlights include "Alabamaman", "Preacherman", "Mad Cat Dynamo", "Hey Véloniño!" and " Red Diesel Medicine".

The Véloniños have delivered an album that is hard to pigeon hold. It's diverse ,strong, very rewarding and will grow on you. It's good, in fact it's very good. Highly Recommended !!!!
