The Terrorsaurs - Swamp Beat 2017

 There are a lot of bands that claim to be primitive and raw rock n roll but few really are.The Terrorsaurs are that and more.Even since they crawled out of the primordial swamp back in 2009, these swamp rats have cough up 3 albums of savage and dangerous instrumental rock n roll.Just to amp things up they also throw in some garage and surf.The band's latest and 4th offering is the powerful "Swamp Beat" and this puppy really grabs the bull by the horns .We get 12 tracks of instrumental rock n roll  that hit damn hard and fast. Hell this is short ,sweet and to the point.It clocks in at  under 25 minutes, so you know they ain't  dickin' around here.At times it's menacing and trashy but it's all freaking kool. No bells and whistles here as this is  straight up and stripped down rock n roll that kills it.It's also their hardest and best album to date. Highlights include: "Gatnapped, "Freight Train", "Swamp Beat", "Boss Crawler" and "Snake Belly".

         
   With  "Swamp Beat" The Terrorsaurs have scored a direct hit .Lay this on the kool kid in your neighborhood, they will either hate you or think your the kool one. Highly recommended!!

The House Of Haunt - Habeas Corpses 2017

Over the last few years Toronto's psychos,House Of Haunt have earned a rep as a fun and very entertaining  live act.They also have upped their game with each release.This past year saw the band lose their keyboard player.Not standing still they went out and got themselves a guitar slinger. As a result, the band has a more beefier and rockin' attack. Their latest offering "Habeas Corpses"  backs that up.Clocking in with an opening statement followed by 8 tracks of psychobilly, then a closing sentencing (there is also 5 bonus live tracks too boot).Four of the tracks are older but have been rerecorded here and the other 4 are new . There is still some keyboard action but it no longer drives their sound.With the addition of the second guitar the band comes off tougher and better.  Overall it's a stout outing that has the band sounding better than ever. Highlights include:"Congo Cannibals", "Undead Man Walking", "The Hanged Man" and the kool  poppy inspired "Rum From The Black Lagoon".
   The House of Haunt are in transition on " Habeas Corpse.It's well balanced with the new tracks  highlighting the album.These cats  are open for business and they just got a little meaner. Recommended!

Numbskulls - Back Fae The Deid 2017

Scottish psychos the Numbskulls have been dead and buried for a hell of a long time .So there arising from the grave last year put more than a few people on notice.Back in 1990 their debut album "Psychophobia" made a splash and their second album "Life In Limbo"was recorded in 93 but wasn't released until 97.For many they are the best psychobilly band to come out of Scotland.That said they are returning in a big way. These lads signed up with Diablo Records,went in to the studio with Doyley and the result is the hard rockin' "Back Fae The Deid ". This puppy comes out of the gate damn strong and brings it on.We get 10 original tracks that mash psychobilly with  rock n roll. It's also laced with  Scottish / Celtic themes that only add to this thrill ride. Every song here rocks and it really is equal parts psychobilly and hard driving rock n roll.Highlights include: "Midgees" ,"Bean Nighe", "Dunnottar Siege" and "Guts'n Glory"
    Rumor has it that these cats got back together to have some fun and or for some unfinished business.One thing for sure is "Back Fae The Deid" is a refreshing and killer album.It's also surprisingly one of the years best .It will color you impressed!   Highly recommended!!
