The Devils Deuce - Supercharged 2017

For been a new band The Devils Deuce(from Cornwall,England) have made a whack of noise in just a short time.Late last year they released the damn smart ep "Passion Pit" that got more than a few people excited .This rockabilly /neorockabilly outfit likes to open up the throttle and kicks butt They also mean business and don't like wasting time.As a result they have just dropped their debut album "Supercharged" and it's pretty sweet.This puppy rushes in with 15 kool tracks(2 from the ep) of "high octane rockabilly"/neorockabilly that rock out and will have you up and moving.This really gives you a big bang for your buck and is loaded with fun killer tracks.Highlights include: "Cool Cat Died","Live For The Weekend","Run" and "Wiped Out"

    From start to finish "Supercharged" hits the mark and delivers a refreshing blast rockabilly that leaves you wanting more.It's a stout album all the way around and one you'll be glad you picked up.Hell your better half will really think your kool when you lay this on them.Highly recommended!!

Klax - Last Zyborg 2017

It's been around 5 years now since the Texan Psycho's Klax released their fine debut album "Recycle-Billy". A more than solid slab of old school inspired psychobilly that put them on the map.Over the past few years they have kept pretty busy and have managed to garner a strong following.Now Klax is back with their sophomore album " Last Zyborg" and this time out the game has changed in a big and ballsy way.Instead of staying the course they have slammed on the breaks and veered into  meaner,darker and more aggressive psychobilly. Add into the mix cyber punk and some shades of thrash and the result is one powerful and impressive album.But here's the real kicker : this is a sci-fi themed concept album about  lazy humans,androids and cyborgs in a bleak,corrupt future.You got to give it to Klax not just for trying this but also for pulling it off. The story is told in 10 chapters that move at a kinetic pace and hold your attention from start to finish. Also pretty much each track(chapter) can stand on it's own and that makes the album even stronger.

 
      Klax have really put themselves out there with "Last Zyborg" and the result is pretty damn kool .One can argue that  in someways this is a groundbreaking album for psychobilly.Some will debut that but no matter how you cut it this is a killer album with a story to tell. Highly Recommended!

The Sirocco Brothers - Come On In 2017

Not much is known about The Sirocco Bros. but one thing for sure is that they are simply a killer band(duo) that's all about the music.Many folks have wasted a lot time trying to figure out who these cats but let's face it,the fact that they very mysterious is kinda refreshing in this age of information over load.That said their dark brew of rockabilly,blues and roots is at times stunning, always haunting and stays with you.It's almost guaranteed that if you give them a listen, you'll be hooked. With a whack of stellar singles ,a couple of ep's and yes 2 albums ("Sirocco" and "Shake") under their belts they have become and rightfully so a big deal to many.The band's(duo) latest offering " Come On In" only cements their growing reputation.This puppy is a loaded gun of 16  powerful tracks that stay the course.So you know we get the usual dark, unique, authentic  mix of rockabilly,rock n roll  and blues.Also once again we get their latest singles and some new songs here. There really isn't a weak track to be found Highlights include: "Dead Bandidos","Bop", "The Drifter" (with Cousin Morgan)with , "Alcatraz" and "Hoo Doo"(with Alice Jayne).

         The Sirocco Bros. have delivered another winner with "Come On In"and it's easily one of the best releases of 2017.This is very stout and impressive outing that is a must have.Highly recomended !!!!

Ghoultown - Ghost Of The Southern Son 2017

Funny thing about Ghoultown is that some of the nicest people I know really dig them and a lot of people you think wouldn't even know who they are also like them.But then again it should come as a surprise since their tales of western madness, mayhem and horror pretty much blur and destroy genre lines in a big way.Hell ask 10 folks what  the Ghoultown sound is and you'll probably get 10 diffident responses.From gothabilly, outlaw country to southern rock ,psychobilly,metal and more. These cats are very  unique and also damn good.The band' last album of new material, "Life After Sundown" was way back in 2008.After that there was a single(2008), an ep(2009) and a rarity album(2012) .Fans of the band have been itching  for their return and now they have in a big way. That said the band's new album "Ghost Of The Southern Son" (their 5th studio album) is one very impressive outing that brings it on.We get 13  tracks that for the most part are  hard rockin', way kool spaghetti western mayhem with that trumpet. There is no rust here and  Ghoultown are in fine form here.With the exception of one ballad , this puppy  moves and groves along pretty good.  Highlights include: " Ghost Of The Southern Son" ," Blood,Bullets and Whiskey", "I Am The Night" and the sweet and killer "Cuchillo".

   
One has to be impressed by "Ghost Of The Southern Son",it's a  damn  stout comeback album and also one of their best.This puppy grabs you by the scuff of your neck and then stares you down.Recommended!!!
