Bourbon Boys - Shotguns, Trucks & Cattle 2013

I'll be the first to admit that I am  not a big fan of country rock but when a band from outside the genre jumps in head first you just know sparks could fly.Case in point: the Swedish industrial metal band Raubtier's side project Bourbon Boys. These headbangers wanted to deliver an album of "hard country and diesel powered rockabilly". Well  'Shotguns, Trucks & Cattle" has that and more. I don't think this is  your typical country rock,we get a mash up of country, hillbilly, bluegrass, rockabilly and American 80's rock.Sure most of the songs deal with drinking, women, hunting ,more drinking and bits about tractors but don't let that fool you ,this is fun stuff. Highlights include:"Hellfire", "Rock in Rollin Man", "Cormorant Blues" and "Country Highway". Chances are if your a hardcore billy boy  you won't find much here but if you like to change it up this is a good pick up .
