The kings of Sleaze-a-billy are about to head off into the sunset. That's right Jack Rabbit Slim are packing it in and going out with a bang.Since their start back in 2004 these cats have constantly raised the bar and have never failed to deliver the goods.Their discography bears out that this is one killer and unique rock n roll band. That said the band's final album, " Despedida" ( Spanish for farewell) has now dropped and it's save to say these cats are going out on top. Punching the clock with 12 originals, this puppy pulls no punches .Basically they stay the course and as a result we get that distinct JRS sound . It's a mix of straight up rocknroll, billy, with little shots of surf ,country and r&b . It's pretty much what you would want or expect from them,so you know it's damn good.Highlights include: Time To Bop", "Train Wreck ", The Mirror" "Tight But Loose" and the movin' and groovin' " Mojo Risin' "
It really is bittersweet that "Despedida"is the final Jack Rabbit Slim. It's a flat out killer and a must have album by one of the best bands in the last twenty years.Highly recommended!!
