Moms I'd Like To Surf first emerged back in 2014 with a pretty kool self titled ep and then quickly followed it up in 2015 with an even stronger ep "Surf Cops Are Watching You". Sure their name caught people's attention but the brand of modern surf they laid down was and is damn impressive. Just on the strength of those 2 eps ,one just knew that this is one talented outfit and that are willing to take risks.Their long awaited debut "Beach Control To Major Knob" backs that up .This puppy rushes in with 11 original tracks and 1 cover of extremely kool surf music. This time out they take a lot of risks and really mix it up.We get some hard edge rockin' surf to tracks that really shift and go through the gears .There is a lot going on here and they even throw in some violin and horns into the mix . As a result this is a interesting , damn refreshing and unique album.Highlights include: " Kiss The Viking Beard", "Messiah Jerk", "Wave Almighty", "Hipster On A Beach" and " Sunless Summer Boogaloo"
Moms I'd Like To Surf are on top of their game with "Beach Control To Major Knob".This is one of the best surf albums to come down the pike in awhile and well worth snapping up. It's killer modern surf that takes chances and pulls it off in a big way.
